Overload frontman hit by Cancer

April 8th, 2010 by admin

Overload front man Allen LaShier was diagnosed with stage 4 Follicular Center Cell Lymphoma last month. This is cancer of the lymph nodes. Lymph Nodes are located all throughout your body that releases white blood cells to fight off infection and disease. Allen, as you can imagine was taken back a little by the diagnosis, but remains in good spirits. We asked Allen what this means for Overload. “….we are still working on getting the show perfected. We have made a couple personnel changed and we are changing the set list to accommodate more people…” Please keep Allen and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Allen has no plans at this time to leave the band. “….my doctor told me to take it easy and relax. He said as long as I don’t come into direct contact with somebody that is sick with a cold or flu, I could continue to play music as long as I have the energy and feel up to it.” Allen is currently going through chemo therapy. Not to worry though, he said he will not loose his hair any quicker than he already is…LOL. The prognosis is very good for Allen. There is a remit ion rate of 85%, and 90% chance that it may not return. “This type of cancer isn’t curable, but it is treatable…. I am very confident in my Dr.’s and staff that I will survive this. I am looking forward to getting back on stage as soon as possible.” The guys are still shopping for a new booking agent and will hopefully be out on the road in late April early May. Keep checking here for upcoming tour dates, and news on your favorite band. Keep rockin, and remember to keep Allen in your prayers. We’ll see ya at the show.

C-YA,

Overload
